The IRS Announces Inflation Adjustments for 2023 HDHPs and HSAs

The annual adjustments for High Deductible Health Plans and Health Savings Accounts include:

  • Maximum HSA Contributions

  • Minimum deductible amounts

  • Maximum out of pocket limits

For calendar year 2023, the annual limit for HSA contributions for an individual is $3850 with self-only coverage, and $7750 for an individual with family coverage. For individuals age 55 and older, the “catch-up” contribution is $1000.

An HDHP is defined as a health plan with an annual deductible that is not less than $1500 for self-only coverage and $3000 for family coverage.
